M, kids love to use kitchen tools and whipping egg whites by hand is so much faster than lugging an electric mixer around the kitchen.

Taylor, great to meet a native Alabamian. I'm getting a very clear mental picture of your granmother's iron skillet and I'm glad to hear you are next in line to receive it. What a great tradition.

As a born-and-raised Alabamian, I know all too well the perfection of a well-seasoned cast iron skillet.

They are heirlooms in my family. My mother uses my great-grandmother's cast iron skillet frequently, and I know one day it will be mine. Cornbread cooked in anything else is a disappointment.

Mmm, sounds lovely. My 12-year-old daughter likes to whip the egg whites we fold into her favorite whole wheat waffle recipe. I will have to put her to work on this one next.
