Lift off!
This weekend is the annual balloon festival in our parts and it’s a big deal. Unlike last year, when many of the events were washed out by rain, conditions are pretty much ideal. Around six yesterday morning I was interrupted in my chores by what looked like giant soap bubbles rising above the morning mist. By the time I ran and got my camera, this is what they looked like.
I had no idea we’d be able to see the balloons so clearly from our farm. Taking off from the central school grounds just outside the village some four miles distant, these hot air craft put on quite a show before drifting off over the hills toward Vermont.
