Our 26 Americauna chicks have settled into their new digs. We fenced in an area just a few steps from the house using the coop we originally built for those Guinea hens that disappeared.

It took a couple of days to get the chicks used to the coop–meaning we had to gather them up at night and carry them to the coop. Mostly what they do now is wander around pecking in the grass, or just hang out in the shade under the coop. If all goes well, they’ll start laying those Easter-colored eggs in the fall.

Is there a rooster in the bunch? Hard to tell at this age, but I’ve got my eye on that big white one.
