As the bluefin tuna season begins in the Mediterranean, the World Wildlife Fund reports tuna of breeding age–meaning four years old or older–could be completely wiped out in three years if current fishing trends continue.
“For years people have been asking when the collapse of this fishery will happen, and now we have the answer,” said Sergi Tudela, head of fisheries at WWF Mediterranean.

Thanks for posting this. I went out for sushi with my friends tonight, and I was about to order something with tuna in it, and then I remembered this post and chose something else. It really helps to have these reminders.
