What We Had For Lunch

Can't get enough salad
Remember I threatened to be eating salad at every meal?
Here was a quick lunch we really enjoyed: salad greens gathered from the garden and dressed with our favorite vinaigrette, next to a Swiss cheese omelet and slab bacon we brought home from the butcher on our trip to Red Bank, New Jersey.
The sliced apple came from the farmers market in Red Bank, the eggs from our favorite West Virginia farmer and the cheese from our local dairy.
Heck, not only was this lunch delicious, it was incredibly local.
And in case you think I’m crazy for swooning over salad, here’s another D.C. blogger who’s harvesting a bumper crop as well.
