Merry Christmas, Buckling

Preparations for repatriating our runaway boy goat continued even through the holidays. I made a trip to Tractor Supply and picked up two 10-foot sections of metal gate and mounted them inside our livestock shelter to create this pen. I think 100 square feet should be adequate to make our buckling comfortable while we acclimate him to new surroundings. Plus, we can move our two girl goats into the paddock where he can visit with them through the wire mesh.
Our maybe even more intimate encounters lie in store?
I continue to visit the buckling twice daily with a bucket of grain at the vacant house where he’s taken up residence within eye shot of our property. Now all we have to do is follow through on a plan to make the actual capture.
This is so much like Wild Kingdom. Where is Marlin Perkins when you need him?

Who we really need is Jim, not Marlin. Marlin always stayed in the bush running commentary while Jim tied up the tiger!
Your runaway goat will be able to jump this fence you have put up; it is not high enough; goats are extremely bright and mischievous; good luck …
Maria, I realize the easiest solution is not always the best. The height issue had occurred to me. My plan is to have the buckling tethered inside the pen until we can make more permanent arrangements. I’m thinking this pen could be useful in the future for lambing or isolating livestock with issues.
