The Slowcook at Spydog Farm The Slowcook at Spydog Farm

A Year in Photos

Well, it looks like we’ll survive our first year on Spy Dog Farm, and what a year it’s been. In addition to moving our lives from the cozy confines of the District of Columbia, we’ve installed fences, laid utility lines, raised chickens, grazed sheep, goats and a cow and endured an epic winter on our little slice of paradise here in Upstate New York.

Along the way there have been plenty of great photo opportunities and I have not held back sharing them with readers here. But I know you can’t wait for more. So I’ve gathered some of the highlights and strung them together in this album posted to YouTube. All you have to do is click on the start tab. The show unfolds all on its own.

We haven’t been exactly idle the past few months. Winter is hardly dormant when you have livestock to care for. But this week we begin anew. We are expecting our first delivery of broiler chicks. We have a few other surprises in store: I don’t want to give anything away, but 2014 promises to be another exciting year on the farm as we get busy again.

Enjoy the show!
