The Kindest Cut

Yesterday when I tried to add a post to The Slow Cook what I was blocked by a message saying that too many attempts were being made to log in to the blog. I take that to mean that someone out there was trying to hack the blog, although why anyone would want to is beyond me. I pictured computer robots behind the scenes duking it out. End result: I posted this photo on Facebook instead.

But I don’t think Slow Cook readers should be left in the dark. Adjusting to our new financial circumstances here on the farm, (meaning, living off our rental properties back in D.C.), we are trying to embrace a more frugal lifestyle. I decided to skip the usual trip to the hair salon and instead we bought a simple razor device at the local pharmacy and I asked daughter to cut my hair. As you can see, I barely stayed awake.

I’ve since learned that this is the way men get their hair cut in many households, while the women folk require professional attention. Daughter, by the way, did a great job shearing my shaggy locks. I was quite pleased with the final results.
